How We Got Started In The Junk Removal Industry

Our junk removal journey started in 2018 because we were remodeling our home in Cumming, Georgia. Several people have asked, “why junk removal?” Out of all the businesses to start, the answer was really quite simple. Our growing family was in serious need of a junk removal service, and most of what was out there were the big national companies with huge overhead. This meant you guessed it, high prices! It wasn’t all about the money, we also looked into what they did with all the junk once they removed it, and the answer wasn’t pretty. All of the junk was taken to landfills.

About JunkMan Jon

We don’t just come to remove your junk and drop it at the landfill.

That’s not the most Eco-friendly way to get rid of your unwanted things. Have you ever wondered what happens to the stuff that goes to a landfill? We found some disturbing information online. According to a study, Americans have been adding double the quantity of waste in landfills than previously estimated by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). The Environmental Research and Education Foundation (EREF) also provides access to reports of nationwide facilities and waste management.

Junk Removal

When we say “junk removal” this includes donation pickup, large appliance pickup, yard waste removal, electronic waste removal, residential and commercial cleanup, foreclosure cleanouts, estate cleanouts, and so much more. Therefore, we focus on ways to recycle the material we pick up or re-purpose it. You’d be surprised at what people throw away. How does the old saying go? One man’s junk is another man’s treasure! We try and donate a large percentage of the stuff we pick up too. What’s important is to give back to the community because that’s what we teach our kids.

Our Family Is Growing

Growing families mean growing clutter; it’s just the way we are today. We buy stuff to use for a while and then toss it away. As a matter of fact, data collected over the past few decades has shown the municipal solid waste (MSW) is about 4.5 pounds per person per day. That’s over 1500 lbs per person per year! Now that’s a lot of junk if you take into consideration a family of four. Do we really need to crunch those numbers? The point is we create a lot of waste so we need an Eco-friendly way to dispose of it.
