Norcross, Georgia
In its 1870 chartering, Norcross was named after Mayor Jonathan Norcross. The early history of the city started with the present historical district. Along a rail route planned by Jonathan Norcross, it was established as a vacation town for tired Atlanteans. It welcomes strangers by providing a comfortable spot to relax, a cool beverage, and a friendly smile! Norcross lies in Gwinnett County, in the northeast of Atlanta, and is only 8 minutes away.
Downtown Norcross is delightful and keeps its feeling in small-town feeling. There is the first fireplace of the county of Gwinnett and its depot station at the turn of the century. The streets are bordered by municipal buildings, churches, parks, and historic residences. Many historical mansions such as Flint Hill, Carlyle House, and Davenport House still belong to people and guests, operating and welcoming today! Quaint city restaurants, like "Dominick's," the "Iron Horse Tavern" and the "45 South Cafe" are modern places for a good time in the vicinity.
Norcross is located in a decent place for fast, simple journeys to and from the city at the intersection of many main highways. It is known for the great schools it has such as the ‘Gwinnett School of Mathematics, Science, and Technology’ which was ranked as the number 1 best public high school in Georgia, and others like Pinckneyville Middle School which was ranked number 64 for the best public middle schools in Georgia.
Today's houses are also available. Families of all kinds and sizes are offered traditional residences, flats, townhouses, and condominiums. Norcross has several facilities to keep its citizens busy. Alone in the center of the city are Thrasher Park, Betty Malden Park, and the Community Park Lily and Webb. Each with paths and pavilions. In Norcross, there is always something going on. Norcross is buzzing with activity thanks to wine and dine nights, jazz and blues festivals, a monthly farmers market, a free summer concert series, and a children's splash fountain. And last but surely not least, car shows! It carries out Italian car shows, PORSCHE car shows, and even a British Car Fayre.
